Goodbye, Houston

Today is a sad day for some people and the music world. Whitney Houston, the R&B singer whose life we know for the incredible singing voice she had and her run-ins with drugs, died today. She was 48.

To document tonight, here are a few screen captures of how news organizations are reporting on her death.

"I Know I've Made Mistake"

This is where my whole Wikipedia surfing actually has pretty good results. Learning about horrible video cameras leads to song that somehow explains your thoughts precisely.

Here's to you, Elizabeth and HJK.

And it was all filmed on four Mattel Vidster, the best toy you could give to kid; the worst to a camera buff.

From 2009, "Laura" by the indie rock band Girls.

Where did it start?/ We used to be friends/ Now when I run into you, I pretend I don't see you./
I know you hate me.

The Devolved Future

It all started in Ohio. The name from the thought that "mankind has begun to regress" as seen with American society in the '60s and '70s. Brothers from both Kent and Akron got together... and forty years later, it's still going, although with some grey hair involved.

All this is better known as DEVO.

And since we're devolving anyway... let's do it tastefully.

From DEVO, we have "Freedom of Choice," "[I Can't Get] No Satisfaction," "Whip It," and "Mongoloid."

Dailymotion has become the site of choice for this entry as both Warner Music Group and DEVO have disabled embedding of their videos from YouTube.
